
Detective Jim Carey has 20 years of public service in the state of Wyoming. After graduating from Central Wyoming College with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, and being honorably discharged from the Navy, Jim began his career in 1990 and has worked in the Communications Division, Animal Control, and Patrol before being promoted to Detective. He served there until 2001 when he joined the Wyoming Highway Patrol, where he spent six years. During that time Jim also served as an instructor at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in Douglas, WY.
In 2007 Jim returned home to the patrol division of Lander Police Department. In January 2010 Jim was promoted to Detective where he is currently serving. Jim's experience and personality make him uniquely suited for this position and he is already showing great results solving cases.
